Austin & Troy (Kendall McKenna)

Austin & Troy - Kendall McKenna

Nope. The story didn't work well for me. I didn't dislike it but to be honest I was BORED mid-way and ended up skimming. It was MEH and I was glad this was a novella. My reasons:

- I was LOST in military lingo. I couldn't figure out most of them, all of those: CP, MREs, FEMA, AO, E.O.S, AG --- yeah, it was authentic way of telling but as a reader who knew nothing about these acronyms (or cared enough about military), it ruined my reading experience.

- I felt the story put a strong emphasis on search and rescue and while I liked those, I missed the romance. The previous three books had the couples in the middle of the hurricane so the emotion between them at least was going strong. This one did not -- at least for me.

- I really LOVED the dog though. Decker got ALL my love. I'm still stretching this to 3-stars because of him. If not for Decker, this would be rounded down.
