Always on My Mind (Jill Shalvis)

Always On My Mind - Jill Shalvis

Leah Sullivan returns to Lucky Harbor to take care of her grandmother and her bakery – and ends up finding herself in a tangled of pretend relationship with her best friend, firefighter Jack Sullivan, to make Jake’s mother happy...

Sigh. ♥ Love ♥ . Sigh.

That is my reaction after I finish this book. What can I say, I LOVE friends-to-lovers theme – when they are being written right, it makes me all warm. And this one is an example of it being written just RIGHT.

While I'm frustrated several times due to Leah’s determination to run away from her issue – and from the fact that the perfect man for her is standing right where she left her – but I can’t help to ride that fuzzy cloud when Leah and Jack finally acts on their sizzling attraction.

Jack is wonderful – I know that he is described as some kind of a womanizer but somehow I never feel that way. I think Jack is pretty solid, both to his mother and to Leah. Even if he has a baggage of following his father’s footsteps as the local town hero. When Jack consoles Leah, I swoon. I just love them.

I do wish there are more of their scenes together, because Leah keeps going back and forth of trying to think of their relationship as fake and that she wants to get out from Lucky Harbor. I also wish Ms. Shalvis extends the ending a little bit more because it wraps up a bit too fast for my liking.

Having said that, it’s pretty much one of my favorites of the series…

Oh, and there’s a dog. Named Kevin. A GREAT dog!! I want more animals in my story!
