SPOILER ALERT!

Fatal Jeopardy (Marie Force)

Fatal Jeopardy - Marie Force

As always I was forced to remove the excessive endearments -- one thing that became my pet peeves when it came to romance. After that was done, everything was good :)

** VERY SPOILER-Y REVIEW BECAUSE I'M TOO LAZY TO TAG EVERYTHING **

First of all, OMG Nick actually ACCEPTED President's Nelson offer as VICE PRESIDENT!?!? I was quite surprised that this was the road that Marie Force taken after Nick declined the offer. I don't know how it will bring to the family situation with Nick being VP and Sam still running around catching murderers and decline Secret Service protection. But let's see...

Anyway, case wise, I liked the previous book better. Because this time, it was AGAIN hitting close to home. I felt rather tired that the women in this series seemed to always have the bad luck. Sam with his previous marriage (and her being difficult to have a baby). We have one of her team who was attacked and raped. And now her 17-year-old niece, Brooke, was drugged, gang-raped, and was video-taped that was then uploaded online?!? Isn't it a bit too much? I wish that the case are about something else *shrugs*

Having said that, as always, it moved fast -- I loved the tight unit of Sam's team. Everyone was so solid together. Freddie, Gonzo, even (I'm grumbling here) that FBI Agent Hill. I still dislike him so much though. Scotty lighten up the story too -- again, as always, I LOVED that kid. I was happy that Gonzo got the permanent custody of his son. The part where he got shot got to me -- happy that he was okay.

It was a solid addition to the series. Marie Force said that she would keep writing this series as long as fans wanted it. Now that Nick was VP, I'd say it was going to be interesting ...
