Ami's Hoard

Gift of the Goddess was previously released last year as part of the Carved In Flesh. As Kaje Harper said herself, this might have the same tone of writing with her free one, Nor Iron Bars a Cage and I enjoyed this one as well.

Garvin might be small, slight man, but nothing would stop him to save his lover, Nyle, from evil soldiers. I admired his determination. And the thing that he must go through!! Being carved in flesh by the goddess he prayed upon; then the rape from the soldiers --- warning the gang rape is on page but very very short. Gosh!

There is a short flashback from ten years back, when Nyle first came into Garvin's life; saving then-16-year-old Garvin from his abusive father. I found the flashback as completing the whole story and showed how Garvin had developed since then. But I also know some readers don't like flashback ... so consider this an advisory.

All in all, another story I loved from Kaje.
