Murder on the Mountain

Murder on the Mountain - Jamie Fessenden

2.5 stars

Not exactly impressed with the mystery (and the way that it was solved). Nor was I felt inspired by the romance. For the time being, please see Xing's review before I posted mine.

--- UPDATED June 30, 2015 --

It has been almost three weeks since I read this and I still have no idea what to write. Honestly, I already forgotten about this book, it was that forgettable *cringe*. Oh, well, what I could remember was that I thought the characters were BLAH. Kyle, for a 30-year-old, sounded really old. He really didn't impress me as a competent detective. As far as I know (well, by watching TV or reading books), at least as a detective he should've asked alibis from all people's involved, including loved ones ... and Kyle didn't, which struck me as, well, sloppy.

Plus, the conclusion of the mystery was not really based on the successful investigation by Kyle (nor Jesse). Yep, none of these people actually made the correct assumption about who the murderer was. When I read a murder mystery, I am hoping that the HERO actually solves the case.

... and because the characters were so-so, the romance felt uninspiring. And what's up with that Epilogue?!? It was one of the WTF moments
