The Shameless Hour (Sarina Bowen)

The Shameless Hour (The Ivy Years Book 4) - Sarina Bowen

Sarina Bowen was one of the new-to-me authors in 2014. I ended up enjoying her New Adult series (a genre that I have found difficult to completely fall in love with). Bella Hall stole my heart when this unapologetic fierce girl first appeared in book three, The Understatement of the Year. Since then, I wanted to read her story. I wanted to see her finding Happily Ever After. And I desperately wanted her man to be one solid who could stand tall beside her without drowning Bella's light.

And boy, did Rafe do the perfect job for that. Yep, that young man was (borrowing Bella's own words) SOLID GOLD.

While I wished that Bella's tribulation didn't come through humiliation prank (it was slightly predictable, especially with Bella being someone seen as enjoying to have sex with many guys) but at the same time, it did give a chance for Rafe to show his worth. Rafe thought of Bella as funny, smart, and sexy -- I could see him worshiped Bella and not at all bothered with what other people think of her, which definitely what she needed. Plus I loved that while Bella was one with sex experience, we had a virgin boy here :)

Rafe and Bella showed character growth throughout the book, without losing that essential individuality that is theirs. This is a great series and I can't wait to read the next book.
