A Gentleman's Agreement (J. Roman)

A Gentleman's Agreement (Evergreen) - J. Roman

2.5 stars

The story started as promising -- the whole idea of matchmaking and courting. But dang if it wasn't suddenly turned into a soap-opera-like twist, with a 'dead' brother turning out NOT really dead, and somehow he actually married some Russian man...

It was a total WTF-ery moment for me, and it ruined everything. Not to mention the courting was really fast, and it slided into an instant-love territory. Oh, and I hated how the story-line with the not-dead brother, resulted in a deep heartbreak for one of the secondary character (the valet, Jonah). He deserved his happy story somehow -- especially since ALL the men in this story were pretty much gay. So why was he the one 'sacrificed' for the sake of the rich lord?

Phoey. Didn't like.
