The Titan's Curse (Rick Riordan)

The Titan's Curse - Rick Riordan

Still in the mood for some YA fantasy adventure, I decided to continue with Percy Jackson marathon. I had to rate this book higher than the previous two because ... well, because, it made me cry a bit.

I really did enjoy the action -- it was quite non-stop from the very beginning, when Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia rescued half-blood siblings: Bianca and Nico di Angelo. They were helped by The Hunters (a.k.a. Artemis' maiden army) and Annabeth was kidnapped (later on Artemis was kidnapped too).

It was a fun-ride adventure -- with new characters introduced, new prophecy from the Oracle, new friends, new enemy (Kronos's General), and even help from unexpected source (Annabeth's Dad was pretty cool!). And of course, when one of the characters perished, it was when I had my eyes all teary.

After three books, I guess I realize that I can't really hope for character's internal / emotion development. For me, Percy was still rather bland as a hero, well, Thalia and Annabeth too. Actually I was more interested with young Nico. I guess I will just enjoy this series for the action. It was definitely entertaining...
