To Read is To Live

WMSmoker seeks Seclusion - PirateGrrl Clyde Reynolds just wants to be left alone so he lashes on everyone he knows, he pushes people away. Clyde is anti-social jerk and he is okay with that. Until this hot guy from third floor (Clyde thinks of him as Third Floor Office Guy) starts getting under his skin and Clyde's office colleagues seem to try matching them up...------------This free fiction starts off quite enjoyable. Despite being snarky and always, always ranting, I find Clyde more amusing than annoying. Especially when he realizes that Sam (Third Floor Office Guy) is immune to his sarcastic attitude.UNFORTUNATELY, being quite an online fiction, for me this story suffers from being a tad too long. I want to see Clyde gradually changes and accepts that Sam is determined to 'break' him. I don't really get that ... even until the very end. I start to get tired with Clyde's snark around half-mark. Even if the author finally reveals why Clyde is like so, but it's a bit too late for me to completely enjoy it. Clyde's colleague workers are getting on my nerves too. Also, in the beginning, Clyde is also said to like doing some drawings. I'm disappointed that this plot is not explored more. I think it will be interesting. Maybe showing the drawings to Sam, or something.Oh, I do find Clyde's adoration towards a cake is amusing though (this happens slightly in the later part). I especially love this paragraph:Taking another bite, I moan in pleasure at the taste. Mom could do no better. This is crazy! Where has this cake been all my life?! Screw Sam. I'm having sex with this cake.*snort!giggle*
