3.75 starsHere was Omar, a pathologist (who worked with 'dead' people), when one night, one of his 'patients' turned out to be, well, NOT dead. No, it wasn't a paranormal story. The situation was a result of combination of bipolar-disorder medication which made Colin (that was the patient's name) looked dead. The two formed a bond -- in between movie watching, texting (more Colin than Omar, because well, Colin was younger -- he was the text generation *lol*) and Omar's wonderful dogs, and they found that they were attracted to one another.------------This great FREE story stopped where it was JUST getting somehere (DARN IT!!). Which was why, it was short of being a full 4-stars rating. I loved the idea -- it was different. I felt that both Omar and Colin would definitely make it just fine -- despite that Omar being older than Colin. I also loved that this had interracial relationship (Omar was black, Colin was white). The conversation between them flew naturally; it didn't feel forced reading it. Here were two guys who felt a connection and gave a relationship a try, despite Colin being a little fucked up in the brain. One of my favorite moments would be when Omar's dogs made friends with Colin (Colin said that pets NEVER loved him, but Omar's dogs proved otherwise). One thing for sure, I would LOVE to pay for this author's works. Her writing suits me to the "T"; the kind of writing that clicks with me from the start. But maybe go with self-published route. I always feel that authors whose free stories I love reading online seemed to lose some of their 'sparks' and 'freshness' when they went published by publishers *shrugs*. It is just a feeling, of course :)
