To Read is To Live

Consequences of the New York City Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002 (Dante #2) - Domashita Romero Ah, Domashita ... why you always able to write short stories that "speak" to me? This one is (short of) a sequel to [b:Best Laid|18193402|Best Laid (Dante #1)|Domashita Romero|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1373794401s/18193402.jpg|25599590]. I am bummed at first because the story is NOT about Dante and Maxwell, the characters from Best Laid. Instead, this is Dante, ten years after, who now works as a teacher in New York City. One night when he is on the roof, smoking, another teacher climbs there. They strike a conversation. I love reading it. It feels so 'easy'. I always love movies where the characters just talk ... you know, like "Before Sunrise" trilogy. No need for actions or special effects. Just two characters who find themselves with topics of conversation and enjoy each other's company. It's such a day-to-day kind of read, and it feels closer to me as a reader. The adorable thing is that both men don't realize that the other is gay, although they actually like the other.PS: Dante talks about being part of a wedding of an ex-boyfriend whom he broke up a decade ago. I assume that wedding is Maxwell's.
