Ami's Hoard

To Read is To Live

Blue-Eyed Soul - Fae Sutherland, Chelsea James Ever since I watched Notting Hill (you know, where famous big star falls for ordinary man), I have soft spot for stories with similar theme. So when I read the blurb of this ... famous musician and a single father, well, let's just say my curiosity increases (yes, especally due to the single father aspect). While I DO enjoy the story; Remey (the musician) is just adorable because he tries to make Aleks (the single father) like him, and I love how Remey interacts with Willow (Aleks's 3-year-old daughter), I admit Aleks doesn't really win me over. He hangs on to his bad experience with his jazz musician wife, and it spills into his cold and judgey attitude towards Remey. Even towards the end, I think he's an ass-hat for demanding Remey a bit tad too much. And there are parts of this book that make me feel like it's moving too slow, or it's just a bit too long. Maybe if it's being 'tighten' a bit, or giving different kind of issues, it will be better. Having said that, the whole small-town vibe is painted nicely, and it's a nice read.
