Hunted By The Others (H&W Investigations, #1)

Hunted By The Others (H&W Investigations, #1) - Jess Haines *sigh* I want to like this book better but it's just hard. This falls into one of those so-so reading that is so common for the first book in an urban fantasy seriesWhat I Like+ The heroine is a human, a completely human being without any kind of powers, and she must deals with the Others, which is a nice premise. Human scores, that's rare, right ...+ I like the idea of the Others coming out after 9/11 and how the rescuers during 9/11 are part of the Others. That is interesting+ The writing is not overwhelmed with technical jargons that usually make me confused when it comes to this genre. What I Dislike+ The story is just flat. I mean, FLAT. Almost no actions at all. Even the fighting in the end is not building up any tension or appeal in me.+ I don't get her reaction to her ex-boyfriend. The break-up situation is just lame.+ Did I say that I think the story is flat?I don't know if I want to read the next book. Some said that it's better than the first, but I think I will not jump into it too soon. While I finished this one without difficulty relating to the writing / technical, but I'm struggling to find something interesting in it. Not even the Were, mage, or vampire interest me enough.
