With or Without Him (Barbara Elsborg)

With or Without Him - Barbara Elsborg

Honestly, I would've DNF'ed this book early on. Unfortunately, this is also the book of the month for my group (Indonesian M/M readers) monthly reading challenge so I couldn't. But I skimmed a LOT.

Basically this is a case of too much sex, "men don't talk" trope, adult man who sulks so badly to the point where I wanted to just kick him to the curb, and DRAAAMAAAA (if I want soap opera, I can watch Indonesian TV shows!). Oh and that FINAL misunderstanding scene?!? Yep, nail in the coffin (I was still willing to give 2.5* before). By the way, this book can be trimmed down by 200 pages. Seriously!!

The only sunshine in this book is Wilson, that hypochondriac butler slash valet of Haris. He is so much fun. I want to read about him and his stray dogs *lol*

Right now, I'm too bloody lazy to write down my own thoughts for a 2* review, so let me just point you all to my friends's reviews who have captured my thoughts perfectly: Simsala's, Rachel's, and Tina's

PS: On that note, it proves that maybe Elsborg's previous books are not for me (based on other reviews I read). I still loved her upcoming book, Falling, so hard (I gave 4.5* stars for it, my review is right here) and I will be waiting for the sequel. However, aside from that, I think I will wait for my friend's thoughts first before I ever try any of hers again.
